The Role

As the in-house POS expert of the True Food Kitchen IT team, the POS Database Administrator is responsible for effective POS software support and general POS hardware/software support, including programming in the Aloha POS database, basic POS help desk activity, new store opening installs, training, and ongoing remote support of all POS restaurant technology.  Must be able to define, maintain, and program POS databases, translate user requirements into functional technical specifications, and must have previous experience within the hospitality industry.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain POS database and all related functionality
  • Perform remote support activity to solve POS functionality and/or operational issues
  • Provide excellent customer service and thorough follow-up with restaurant locations
  • Ensure that POS security procedures are implemented and enforced
  • Assist with the installation and maintenance of POS servers, terminals, and printers
  • Define new ways to continually improve POS operations
  • Coordinate and support the 3rd party Help Desk (external vendor)
  • Participate in rotating on-call evening/weekend after-hours support
  • Perform new store opening on-site support
  • Provide backup support to IT Team for basic networking, connectivity, email, and user support

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years:
  • Experience in tech support or help desk role.
  • Work within the hospitality industry
  • Preferred: 3-5 years POS programming or database development
  • Well-rounded knowledge of POS software (Aloha is preferred)
  • Basic networking/connectivity knowledge
