    The Role

    The Food Safety Specialist works directly with our Culinary, Operations and Training teams to ensure that the required food safety controls are in place and being met. An important aspect of the role is to protect Fox Restaurant Concepts by staying well informed and supporting restaurant operations by taking a proactive approach on public health issues.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Review all EcoSure inspection results in a timely manner and based upon the findings, provide immediate feedback and support to restaurants.
    • Teach & coach restaurant management on food safety practices
    • Initiate appropriate corrective actions to ensure that progress is made toward compliance with approved brand standards.
    • Manage the investigation and resolution of all non-conforming product complaints, as needed.
    • Manage all food related illness investigations, and follow up as necessary.
    • Assist with evaluating restaurant design modifications in support of improved food safety and sanitation.
    • Assist the Training team to assure all training documents are updated to align with changes to the FDA Food Code.
    • Audits restaurant food safety and sanitation practices.
    • Assist in delivering ServSafe training.

     

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree a plus) in Public or Environmental Health or other closely related science discipline.
    • 3 + years of public health or quality assurance experience.
    • Must be state or nationally registered as a Registered Sanitarian (RS) or Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS).
    • Must be an innovative thinker and flexible to change as well as demonstrate critical attention to detail.
    • Possess good written and oral communications, facilitation and presentation skills.
    • Functional skills in Excel, Word and Outlook.
    • Must be willing to travel as needed to support our restaurants.
